ITS BEEN A LONG TIME

Fans of the Star Trek franchise can finally own the most exciting, most spectacular action and visual effects episodes in Star Trek history as Archer and his crew work to conquer their greatest challenge: finding a mysterious alien race before they can destroy Earth in STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE SEASON 3, available to own for the first time from 5th September.

The DVD includes an exclusive special feature not available on the generic US release. Behind the Camera with Marvin Rush invites viewers behind-the-scenes to explore the filming of Star Trek episodes. STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE SEASON 3 continues the range's colourful collector's edition packaging, containing all 24 episodes (over nineteen hours) in Dolby Digital 5.1. The box set also includes newly produced bonus features including featurettes, as well as hilarious outtakes and deleted scenes.

Set in the 22nd century, a hundred years before James T. Kirk helmed the famous starship of the same name, STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE takes place in an era when interstellar travel is still in its infancy. Captain Jonathan Archer (Scott Bakula) has assembled a crew of brave explorers to chart the galaxy on a revolutionary spacecraft: Enterprise NX-01. As the first human beings to venture into deep space, these pioneers will experience the wonder and mystery of the final frontier as they seek out new life and new civilizations.

For some, including Engineer 'Trip' Tucker (Connor Trinneer), whose sister was killed in the attack on Florida, the mission is one of vengeance. For others, it's a chance to explore a new area of space. Tensions are high on board, with the arrival of a crack marine unit, who believe themselves ready to face anything. And in the midst of all this is Captain Archer, trying to maintain all that is good about humanity.

STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE SEASON 3 tells its story across the whole season in a way not seen on Star Trek since the highly-regarded Dominion War arc on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. With brilliantly choreographed battle scenes alongside sharply observed character interaction, STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE SEASON 3 takes the prequel saga to new heights. Whether it's drama, special effects or action that you're after, ENTERPRISE SEASON 3 delivers them all with that unique Star Trek twist that has kept fans and newcomers intrigued and excited for nearly forty years.

MERGING GENERATIONS

In bringing together past and present generations of Starfleet commanders, STAR TREK: GENERATIONS - 2 DISC SPECIAL EDITION creates the perfect arena in which two of the franchises' greatest and much-loved characters are thrown together in an attempt to save a star system.

Starring PATRICK STEWART as Captain Jean Luc Picard, this terrific sci-fi movie sees retired Starfleet officers James T. Kirk (WILLIAM SHATNER), Montgomery Scott (JAMES DOOHAN) and Pavel Chekov (WALTER KOENIG) as guests of honour aboard the newly christened Enterprise-B. This 2 disc special edition contains over six hours of newly created extra features, including 3 deleted scenes, a 13 minute alternative ending and 11 behind-the-scenes featurettes.

Leonard Nimoy was originally set to reprise the role of Spock during the scenes on the Enterprise-B. However, because he declined the role, the part was changed to James Doohan's character of Scotty, but the lines remained more or less the same; this explains the odd use of Scotty calling Kirk "Jim", something that only Spock or Dr. McCoy would ever have previously called him.

Years later, Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the crew of Enterprise-D rescue a physicist named Soran (Malcolm McDowell). Unbeknownst to Picard, Soran is a megalomaniac renegade who harbours a deadly plan that includes the end of millions of lives. Now Picard's only hope for a future rests within the energy ribbon, and a legendary captain from the past.

"Ah, Captain. You must think I'm quite the madman." (Dr. Soran)
"The thought had crossed my mind." (Picard)

Setting Shatner's belligerent yet loveable Kirk alongside the serene, intellectual Picard offers numerous possibilities for the story and creates a superb viewing experience.

"I take it the odds are against us and the situation is grim." (Kirk)
"You could say that." (Picard)
"You know, if Spock were here, he'd say that I was an irrational, illogical human being by taking on a mission like that. Sounds like fun!" (Kirk)

James T. Kirk's final two words, "Oh, my..." are a spontaneous ad lib made by William Shatner, who later explained it was Kirk's reaction to eternity and truly going where Kirk had never gone before.

Digitally re-mastered for 5.1 surround sound and DTS, this two disc special edition box contains over six hours of new extra features.

The highlights include:

With fantastic special effects and characters that are superbly explored, GENERATIONS is a must for Star Trek fans old and new. The two disc STAR TREK: GENERATIONS - SPECIAL EDITION is available to own on DVD from Paramount Home Entertainment from 20th December 2004

ORIGINAL TREK

"Space...The Final Frontier. These are the voyages of the Starship, Enterprise. Its 5-year mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilisations, to boldly go where no man has gone before…"

For the first time ever, Star Trek: The Original Series is boldly going where no Complete Season has gone before - DVD. Presented in innovative collectors packaging, and now enjoying a cult status all over the world, Star Trek: The Original Series, Season 1 DVD contains over 20 hours of episodes, featurettes and exclusive interviews. The superb extra footage includes newly created interviews with the cast and executive producers, 'A day in the life of…' diaries and fascinating stories from the actors as they recall on-set events and how the series was initially made; all created exclusively for Star Trek: The Original Series, Season 1 DVD.

First aired in America in 1966, Star Trek was groundbreaking in its use of special effects and plot lines. Following the exploits of Captain James T. Kirk, played by the eponymous WILLIAM SHATNER and his crew of around 430 on board the Starship Enterprise, they battled aliens, megalomaniacal computers, time paradoxes, psychotic murderers and even Genghis Khan! However, contrary to popular belief, Captain Kirk never uttered the line "Beam me up, Scotty". The series gripped a nation offering everything for the science fiction enthusiast and cult follower alike and has since spawned the largest number of spin-off productions, including ten feature film movies and the numerous TV series, as well as adding new phrases into the language.

"To boldly go where no man has gone before" was the captain's mantra and each episode does just that. Delivering an array of fantastic creatures and characters, superb plots, and genuine often extremely humorous interactions between the crew of the Enterprise, the series follows Kirk and his crew as they explore the boundaries of deep space.

Season One highlights include, 'Where no Man has Gone Before' in which Capt. Kirk is forced to do battle with his close friend lieutenant Mitchell, who threatens to take over the galaxy, 'The Conscience of the King' where Kirk suspects the head of a theatre troupe to be a notorious mass murderer on the run and the two-part 'The Menagerie', in which Spock faces a court marshal after hijacking the Enterprise in a bid to return a dying former Starfleet captain to a forbidden planet. Also look out for a young Joan Collins in "The City on the Edge of Forever". All in all, Star Trek: the Original Series is the jewel in the franchise's crown and as Spock always reminded us - "live long and prosper…"

STAR TREK: THE ORIGINAL SERIES, SEASON 1 is available to own on DVD from Paramount Home Entertainment from 30th August 2004.
