The City of Sin is becoming a hot bed for television shows but after two successful seasons is 'Las Vegas' becoming a bit of a gamble to watch?

At the end of season two the Montecito Hotel and Resort was demolished and Ed Deline, Danny McCoy, Mary Connell, Sam Marquez, Mike Cannon, Delinda Deline and Nessa Holt went their separate ways, with one of them never to be seen again. Now a brand new Montecito has emerged from the rumble, along with a new billionaire owner who wants to make a big impact in Vegas but for Monica Mancuso it was never going to be easy.

The third season of hit show 'Las Vegas' rings in a few changes but fans can rejoice that the formula that drew them to the show in the first place has changed a bit. The season begins with your favourite characters all doing their own thing. Danny is running his father's business after his death. Mary is starting her new life with her fiancée. Delinda is running a new club and Sam is still the best casino host on the strip. Only Ed and Mike are still as working for Monica's Montecito and they desperately need the team to come back.

What makes 'Las Vegas' so enjoyable is it is fluffy, light entertainment filled with beautiful people and storylines that are funny and entertaining. This is not a show that is filled with high drama, in depth characters or social issues but it is filled with loveable characters, entertaining action and sexual chemistry that makes it a show you can just sit back, relax and be entertained.

It is the cast that makes this show extremely watchable. As they progress into their third season, each of the actors and actresses have now really got to know their character and each other making the screen chemistry extremely good. Leading the line is the performance of big screen veteran James Caan, as ex-CIA agent turned head of operations for the Montecito Ed Deline. This is a season of change for Caan's character, as the first half of the season sees him having to face off against the new owner of his beloved hotel. Josh Duhamel continues to prove that he is more than just a good-looking heartthrob used to draw in the female demographic. His Danny McCoy character gets the chance to grow this season and even gets to visualise what it would have been like back in 60s Vegas. James Lesure's Mike Cannon continues to be the most likeable character in the show. We get to see more of Sam Marquez's family and past as Vanessa Marcil continues to grow the most interesting female character. Molly Sims continues to look like she is having loads of fun as Delinda Deline and the beautiful Nikki Cox finally sees Mary leave her relationship with Danny in the past to enter a new chapter in her life.

'Las Vegas' is not a show that will take over your life or have you talking about with all of your family and friends but it is a show that you can really enjoy. The third season sees a lot of growth for the characters and the same amount of fun and entertainment that drew you to the show in the first place. It is not much of a gamble if you become a fan of this show.

PICTURE & SOUND

Presented in 16x9 Widescreen with a Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack, 'Las Vegas' has never looked or sounded so good.

BONUS FEATURES

Gag Reel (7.22 mins)
Filled with swear words and obscenities, watch the cast of 'Las Vegas' have fun on the set and really muck up their lines. There is also an extremely funny Godfather impression from James Caan, who of course starred in the original, Oscar winning movie.

In with the New (2.30 mins)
Watch time-lapse footage of the new Montecito set been built before the start of the third season.

OVERALL

With only a gag real and a short time lapse featurette, fans of 'Las Vegas' will be very disappointed with the amount of special features on this DVD box set release. Some commentary tracks, interviews or making of… featurettes would not have gone a miss.
