Crusading lawyer Lucy Kelson (Bullock) has always fought for what she believes in. Her latest target is Wade International, a multinational property developer that are buying up derelict, listed buildings and knocking them down to make way for modern developments. When Lucy takes her protest to company owner George Wade (Grant), he is instantly impressed and offers her a job as his chief council. After working together for over a year, George no relies on Lucy for everything and when he rings her in the middle of her best friends wedding, Lucy sees this as the last straw and gives him her two weeks notice.

Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock, the uncrowned king and queen of romantic comedies get to together for the first time in this predictable, slushy but fun rom-com.

You know exactly what is going to happen as soon as you sit down to watch this movie. It's another girl dislikes boy, boy offers girl job, girl starts to like boy, boy does something stupid to upset girl, girl quits job, boy does his best to make girl stay and girl realises that she feels more then she though she did for him type of movie.

The thing that makes this slightly better than another other romantic comedy with a similar premise is the chemistry between Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock. The two of them bounce off each other perfectly, with Grant's dry wit and Bullock's endearing charm complementing the characters completely.

The supporting cast are virtually redundant in movie, with Alicia Witt's character been nothing more than a distraction and Dana Ivey and Robert Klein as Lucy's parents been seriously underused. But his movie is not about an ensemble cast, it is all about Sandra and Hugh as they have the lion share of screen time anyway.

At the end of the day this is an average romantic comedy premise that is propelled to greater heights than it should be by the performances of its two leads. This alone makes Two Weeks Notice worth watching and also makes it a great date movie.
