LAPD officer Hank isn't having a great time. First his partner is killed while trying to stop a robbery, and then he is falsely accused of racially beating up Earl (Lawrence), which leads to him losing his job, his girl girlfriend and then spending six months in prison. On his release the only job he can get is working for National Security as a guard but he is more concerned with bringing his partner's killers to justice.

Have you even watched a movie and expected it to be bad? Well this movie was actually worse than I could have ever imaged.

Watching this movie is like getting into a time machine, travelling back to the late 1980s and watching the puerile, trash cop buddy movies that came out in abundance after the success of the original Lethal Weapon movie. It has the signature miss-matched partners, the slow-mo gunfights, the big explosions, the car chases and even the usual late 80s villain in Eric Roberts (who was quite big at the time but has done nothing since). Even the plot is reminiscent of the time, the usual story of revenge with a slight comic twist.

At the moment anything that has Martin Lawrence above the title means "Bad Movie". The man hasn't done anything of any substance since "Bad Boys" in 1995. He is untalented, over the top and down right irritating. His entire comic performance is another 1980s cliché. "It's because I'm a Blackman" is his only gag and after the fifth time it starts getting tiresome but after eighty-eight minutes of the same joke you wonder how he ever gets work.

What is Steve Zahn doing in this movie? He is a talented comedic actor who should seriously think about getting himself a new agent if this is the only film he could find him.

National Security is just plain awful and I won't wish it on anyone. You should be glad that I go and see this crap so you don't have to.
