Tom (Kutcher) and Sarah (Murphy) have had a whirlwind romance. Within a month they were living together and within a year they were married, everything was perfect until they went on honeymoon. As one disaster follows another, the couple discover that marriage isn't all it was cracked up to be.

Nearly every Rom-com you watch is always the same but Just Married is slightly different.

The usual plot of a romantic comedy is that a couple in a situation find love and get married but this one starts with Tom and Sarah on verge of divorce. Sadly this is the only piece of originality in the whole film as the rest is formulaic and predictable.

The performances from the two leads are fine and they do have a certain amount of on-screen chemistry. Ashton Kutcher is not as annoying as usual, showing abit more restraint in his performance by only going manic when it is really needed. Brittany Murphy shows a talent for comedy, making a change from her usual more dramatic roles and this could push her to greater heights.

As for support, Christian Kane plays a suitable jealous rich boy foil to poor boy Kutcher and David Moscow is just the stereotypical loser friend for the lead actor.

While the story is a slight twist on the genre, Just Married is a decidingly average film that is only good as a date movie. The laughs are slight and the ending is predictable but you can't really expect groundbreaking cinema from a romantic comedy.
