Being head of the cheerleading squad, dating the Quarterback of the Football team and the most popular girl in school, Jessica (McAdams) was, by her own admission, living the perfect life. This all changes when she steals an ancient pair of cursed earrings for the prom but then loses one to petty criminal Clive (Schneider). After they both go home and try on the spoils of their thievery, the next morning Jessica wakes up as Clive and vice-versa.

Rob Schneider continues with his own brand of high concept, toilet humour but this time does he go a little too far?

We've had him as a gigolo and an animal but as a woman trapped in a man's body. Has his penchant for putting himself into extreme situations all in the name of comedy a little too much? Actually, probably not. Despite an appalling start, as soon as he appears you realise that Rob Schneider is a likeable comedian. He is an everyman, who gets the girl and always lives happily ever after in his harmless comedies. Yes, his is comedy for the lowest common denominator but Schneider's performances are enough to raise a smile.

What lets him down is his own co-written screenplay. While amusing in parts as it is filled with lesbian, toilet, fat and ethnic jokes, it doesn't have any real laugh out loud moments. Even a cameo by producer Adam Sandler can do anything more than raise a smile. The cast do their best with Anna Faris, moving away from Scary Movie parody, having good screen chemistry with Schneider but you can only take so much of him camping it up. He does a good job of makes us believe he is a high school prom queen in a man's body but the joke does tend to wear abit thin by the end.

The Hot Chick only ever manages to raise the slightest of smiles. Harmless enough, it just doesn't deliver on the big laughs a concept like this could have supplied.
