Dave Buznik (Sandler) considered himself a normal guy. Ok, so he hated his job, he could be affectionate with his girlfriend Linda (Tomei) in public and people treated him like dirt put he was always in control of his emotions, or so he thought. After an unsolicited altercation with a flight attendant, Dave is sentenced to 30 days of anger management theory under the supervision of Dr. Buddy Rydell (Nicholson), whose methods are extreme to say the least.

Adam Sandler comedies are very hit and miss. For every Wedding Singer there is a Little Nicky but Anger Management is one of his better efforts.

This is all because of Jack Nicholson. The consummate actor has a real gift for comedy and dazzles as the mad anger management therapist. The chemistry between Sandler and Nicholson is what elevates this up from the shambles it could have so easily been. Sandler backs down to Nicholson, becoming almost the straight man to Jack manic performance and he only rarely goes into his typical angry type of humour but this time to better effect.

There is also good support from a cameo filled cast. The always excellent John Turturro and Luis Guzman steal the group therapy scenes and Marisa Tomei does a great job as Sandler's girlfriend. There are also a lot of good cameos from friends of the two leads to keep an eye out for, especially a hilarious John C. Reilly.

What lets the movie down is the lack of real laugh-out-loud situations and a lot of the best gags been shown in the trailer. The two leads deserved a better script as a lot of potential has been missed, especially as they have such good screen chemistry.

Anger Management does enough to keep a smile on your face throughout. The cameos are amusing and the Nicholson and Sandler make it well worth watching but you can't help thinking that is could have been a lot funnier.
