After a terrible car accident killed both her parents. Ruby (Sobieski) and her brother Rett are taken into the care of their old neighbours, the Glasses (Skarsgard and Lane). Their new life starts in a beautifully modern house in Malibu, it has everything a swimming pool, huge TV and a view over looking the ocean. But all is not as tranquil as it may seem.

The problem with this movie is that you can guess the plot after about fifteen minutes and the other ninety-one minutes is just an over long wait to see the conclusion. There is nothing to make this movie stand of from the glut of so-called thrillers that have gone before, the whole genre needs an injection of originality.

The performances are nothing more than average. Skarsgard makes an acceptable villain but never comes across as truly menacing and Sobieski is there just to look pretty and never really gets the chance to show what a talent she can be.

All in all it is just another run of the mill thriller that others nothing new making it to become very forgettable.
