Life has moved on in the Little house. George (Lipnicki) is growing up and making new friends, Eleanor (Davis) and Fredrick (Laurie) Little have a baby daughter to take care of, which leaves Stuart (Fox) feeling a little neglected. That changes when he accidentally saves a bird called Margalo (Griffith) from the clutches of the evil Falcon (Woods). The two becomes friends but Stuart awakes one morning to find Margalo gone and he comes to the conclusion that Falcon has her. In a gallant effort he sets out, with a reluctant Snowball (Lane), to rescue her.

The computer animated mouse returns for another charming and endearing adventure. As with the first film, this movie is pure family entertainment.

Fun, action packed and delightfully scripted the film has all the hallmarks that made the original such a family favourite. Michael J Fox manages to convey such feeling and warm into the voice of the character you can't help embracing the mouse into your heart. Nathan Lane has all the best lines and steals the show as the voice of Snowball, as he did in the first film. James Woods is a suitable villain and Melanie Griffith gives her best performance in years as Margalo.

The animation is superb. The way the computer generated characters move is remarkable and the fur and feathers are very realistic which adds even more gusto to the vocal performances. The characters do sometimes suffer from the inevitable CG shine, especially the two birds, but this can be forgiven when their movements are so full of life.

If you enjoyed the first movie you'll love this, as it is a fine example of family entertainment. Now where's that cheese.
