SLAP HER, SHE'S FRENCH

Running Time: 92 mins

Starla (McGregor) was the most popular girl in high school. The cheerleader captain, anchorwoman of the school news service and winner of the Miss Beef Texan beauty pageant, Starla had her whole life mapped out for success. To increase her sense of community and as one of her pageant pledges, she welcomes exchange student Genevieve (Perado) into her home and circle of friends. Coming over shy and very European, Genevieve slowly works her way into the school's affections and starts to take over Starla in the popularity stakes. Was this her plan all along?

The only thing that is remotely funny about this movie is the title.

The film can't decide what is wants to be. A black comedy, a revenge drama or a gross-out teen movie, it never really makes up its mind and becomes a complete shambles. The script is lacking in originality and most importantly laughs. When they have to resort to having the younger brother swear for a cheap laugh you know the screenwriters were getting desperate.

Jane McGregor and Piper Perado are very attractive women, which is a bonus of the prepubescent teenagers that the movie is aimed at but other than that there is nothing here to keep you entertained.

I don't think it is the French we should be slapping but the person who greenlit this project in the first place. Avoid like the guillotine.
