Life couldn't be better for Scott Calvin (Allen). He has been Santa for eight years and the percentage of kids that are on the nice list is way up but living with the Santa Clause is never simple. In the small print of the card he got when he got the job it says he has to be married by Christmas Eve, the Mrs Clause so to speak and if that wasn't enough his son Charlie is on the naughty list.

The long awaited follow up to the 1994 hit movie see Tim Allen return to the role that launched his big screen career, the only problem is that all the kids who went to see the first one have now all grown-up.

Why is has taken eight years to make a follow-up to the hugely successful original we'll never know but time has been good to the concept and the good news it that the sequel has all of the fun of the first movie.

You can tell that Tim Allen really loves this role and his performance reflects this as he makes Scott/Santa the likeable character he needs to be. There is also good support Elizabeth Mitchell, the potential Mrs Clause, and David Kromholtz (Head Elf Bernard) and Eric Lloyd (An older Charlie) return to their roles.

The Santa Clause 2 is good family entertainment for the holiday season and not been a rehash of the first movie, it is more of a continuation of the story. While it doesn't mention any of the religious meaning of the holiday, it does capture the spirit of the season very well making it an enjoyable experience for the whole family.
