After four years in prison, Daniel Ocean (Clooney) is a reformed character, or so the parole board would like to think. What they don't know is that he used the time to plan the most audacious robbery in history. Las Vegas, three casinos, unrivalled security and over $150 million make this the near impossible job that is too good to turn down. Danny can't it on his own so along with his partner in crime Dusty Ryan (Pitt), they gather together a team of experts that can get the job done. What they don't know is that Danny has an ulterior motive, the casinos he plans to rob are all own by Terry Benedict (Garcia) who just happens to be dating his ex-wife Tess (Roberts).

This movie is the epitome of cool. Everything thing about it just oozes class. The cast is unbelievable, the direction is exquisite and the plot is sublime. This is how all movies should be made.

A remake of a movie that is only really remembered for starring all of the Rat Pack, this film has been totally transformed into a modern cult classic. All the credit has to go to Steven Soderbergh who brings us something we don't seldom get to see, a group of A-List actors in the same film looking like they are having fun. This is the overall feeling you get from the movie, that everyone involved really loved what they were doing and they did it more for the joy of acting than the paycheque. This is what makes the movie so special.

A true ensemble piece, with every character essential to the flow of the movie and the director lets every actor have a key scene. George Clooney, Matt Damon and Brad Pitt are tremendous in the roles of honourable thieves who never use guns, don't swear and only steal from people who deserve it. The supporting cast is exceptional from Elliot Gould and Carl Reiner providing a touch of class to the menacing Andy Garcia, who you really want to get his comeuppance. But this is a movie where the cast is the standout not an individual.

The plot is funny, charming and cool, twisting and turning to a brilliant conclusion that will leave you extremely satisfied. Not many directors could have pulled this off but Soderbergh is someone, like Robert Altman, Woody Allen or the Coen Brothers, that actors really want to work with and when they do they will always come back for more. This, along with his earlier outing Out of Sight, proves that Soderbergh can deliver a certain coolness that will make you want to see this movie again and again.

What more can I say, the whole movie is pure entertainment.
