DON'T SAY A WORD

Starring: Michael Douglas, Sean Bean, Brittany Murphy, Jennifer Esposito, Oliver Platt and Famke Janssen
Director: Gary Fleder
Running Time: 113 mins
Certificate: 15

Waking up to find that his daughter has been kidnapped, Dr Nathan Conrad (Douglas) has until 5pm to find a six-digit number. The problem is that the number is trapped within the troubled mind of his new patient Elizabeth Burrows (Murphy). He will have to use all his skills as a psychiatrist because if he fails, Patrick Koster (Bean) will kill his daughter.

This is another formulaic thriller that doesn't deliver anything new to the genre. Michael Douglas and Sean Bean seen like they are on autopilot and really only just turned up for the money. They are both playing parts that they have done before and could play them in their sleep. Brittany Murphy's performance is good however and shows some potential for future roles.

This is the type of movie that you know how it is going to end before it even starts. There are no real surprises and it never does anything to raise itself above average. This is a genre that is in desperate need of an injection of originality and this is not the movie to provide it.
