Running Time: 94 mins

After learning that his beloved Leisure Centre is to be closed down by the Government, the leader of the West Staines Massive Ali G (Baron Cohen) decides to take the fight to them the only way he knows how, by becoming an MP. Backed by the Deputy Prime Minster David Carlton (Dance), the new MP's "Keep it Real" policy proves extremely popular and he is soon promoted into the Cabinet. But Ali's meteoric rise in Government is all part of Charlton's more devious plan to steal power from the Prime Minster (Gambon).

I have to admit that I went into this movie expecting another Kevin & Perry Go Large but what I was greeted with was a film that had a lot more hits than it did misses. Where Kevin and Perry seemed like an over long sketch with only one real funny moment in the entire 90 minutes, Ali G Indahouse is one outrageous gag after another.

Yes, it has the flimsiest of plots but this is not what you are really coming to see from this type of movie. When it does try and add some kind of message, it just goes and takes the mickey out of the situation anyway, making the story even less important.

What it does well is caricature the Max-Power, gangster rap culture, taking it out of the 'ghettos' and placing it in white suburbia where the characters face off over who's crew hangs around the local playground climbing frame.

Sacha Baron Cohen makes the leap onto the big screen with ease and is helped by some good support from Michael Gambon and Charles Dance, who have to be applauded for sending themselves up with no shame whatsoever. There are also a lot of cameos to watch out for.

It's sexist, homophobic, pro-drugs, violent and slightly racist but if you think you might be offended by any of this then simply don't go and see it. For the rest of you and especially Ali G fans this is a fun movie that hits the funny bone more often than it misses.
