The World's number one male model, Derek Zoolander (Stiller) has just lost his crown to young pretender Hansel (Wilson). Having lost all direction in his life, Derek now needs to find out who he really is. Meanwhile the new President of Malaysia has outlawed child labour, putting an end to sweatshops and therefore cheap clothes production. The world Fashion Industry cannot have this happen, so operative and major fashion designer Mugatu (Ferrell) comes up with a plan to solve the problem. Kill the President and brainwash a male model to do it.

Currently at the top of his game, in movie circles Ben Stiller can do no wrong. After the success of Meet the Parents, Keeping the Faith and There's something about Mary, Paramount have let him run riot with his own pet project. Writing, directing and starring Stiller, this movie is really just a poor man's Austin Powers. Yes it is very funny in parts, the "Walk-off" and the end sequence are very funny, but Mike Myers does it a lot better.

It does have an amazing amount of cameos and is worth watching to see if you can spot them all, but this does not a great comedy make. Stiller just takes the easy route of making out that Models are just extremely dense people who just do as they are told, which has been done many times before. Still Owen Wilson is very good as Hansel and Jerry Stiller (Ben's Dad) is very funny, especially for those who enjoyed Seinfeld.

Audio commentary from director/star Ben Stiller, Deleted scenes with optional director's commentary, Rehearsal footage, Alternative end titles, VH-1 Fashion Awards skit (1996), Interactive menu, Dolby Digital (5.1) & Scene access
