Carman (Vega) and Juni (Sabara) are two ordinary kids. Carmen is trying to be popluar at school and poor Juni has no real friends and is picked on because of his warts. Add to this that they both think their parents are just dull consultants, who never really take much notice of there problems. This all changes when maniacal children's TV host Fegaan Floop (Cumming) kidnaps the. You see Gregorio (Banderas) and Ingrid (Gugino) are both international spies and the only people who can rescue them are Carman and Juni.

From the Director of such violent more adult orientated movies as 'Desperado' and 'From Dusk till Dawn', comes a classic kids movie. It has everything both adults and kids will enjoy, big special effects, gadgets, a comic book, over the top villain and non-stop action. Rodriguez takes his usual band of actors such as Banderas, Cheech Marin, Robert Patrick and Danny Trejo and gives them more heroic roles than their usual anti-hero or extremely villianistic performances we are used to. This gives the fans of his work something to smile about as you see genuinely good actors giving the over the top performances you want to see in this type of family entertainment.

The two kids are very watchable and not overly cute, and the pace and tempo to the movie is extremely fast, transferring the usual frantic Rodriguez style seamlessly into this new genre, giving you a movie that everyone should enjoy.
