Ray (Allen) has a plan. He is going to rent the shop next to the bank, tunnel into the safe and steal a fortune. As a front, his wife Frenchy (Ullman) opens the shop up as a Cookie store, but when the cookies become an overnight sensation and the money starts rolling in, the big score is put on the back burner for Frenchy's new plan, becoming part of upper class society.

This is Woody Allen at his best, basically playing it for laughs. The combination of farce and one-liners is a pure pleasure to watch. Again he gets the best performances from his ensemble cast, with Tracy Ullman showing what a great comedy actress she can be, with a nearly flawless New York accent. This movie is a joy to watch and it's great to see Woody back on the big screen doing what he does best, making people laugh.
