It's summer vacation and all of the Third Street Elementary gang has gone to summer camp, except TJ. When strange things start happening at the school like loads of equipment been delivered, foreign documents in boxes and a giant laser dish coming out of the school roof, TJ can't get anyone to believe him. Only the gang can help him solve this mystery, so he sets off to summer camp to bring them back.
Having never watched the cartoon on TV, I didn't know what to except but what I was greeted with was a really good kids movie that adults really wouldn't have a problem stilling through. There are quite a few highbrow gags that adults will enjoy as well as some great pre-teen antics from the Recess gang, making this a good family movie.
