Bletchley Park was the headquarters of the British code breaking division during WWII. Here teams of mathematicians worked on deciphering Nazi communications, using captured intelligence. Central to this was German short wave codebooks and most importantly an Enigma machine. The Enigma was the Nazi's ultimate intelligence weapon and they thought that no one could crack its code. They didn't count on Tom Jericho (Scott). He invented the 'Thinking Machine' the words first computer to crack the codes. This all changed when the Germans suddenly altered their code structure just as the Allied forces needed the information the most. This bought up suspicions of a spy with the Bletchley ranks.

While the whole code breaking and Enigma subjects are very interesting, the movie itself really isn't. Again a story of love and betrayal is attached to a story of historical importance to add abit of spice to the goings on, with as with Pearl Harbor really doesn't work.

It never does enough to keep you interested and it is really hard to believe that anyone could become so obsessed with Saffron Burrows's character that they would end up going mad. The woman just comes across as an annoying, dumb blonde who would irritate you beyond believe.

Scott, and Northam are good with the material they have and Kate Winslet is always worth watching, but this does not take away the fact the movie drags on with nothing really happening to keep your attention.
