Unsuccessful stand-up comic Lance Barton (Rock) just wants to be appreciated by the crowd at The Apollo. The problem is they only know him as Booy, as he is always booed of stage. Trying to find motivation for his act, Lance cycles to the comedy club, when he sees Sontee (King) crossing the road, he is struck by Cupid's arrow and then a 10-ton truck. Up in Heaven, the powers that be release that they had taken him too early and strike a deal that they will find him a new body, but in the mean time he is stuck with the body of a 53 year-old white billionaire.

Based on the Warren Beatty movie "Heaven can wait" and directed by the brothers behind the hit comedy "American Pie", this movie really had potential, but that would-be hit quality is never realised. The movie is just not funny. It never succeeds in raising anything more than a smile, even when Chris Rock is doing his stand-up routine. As a showboat for Rock's talents as someone who can carry a movie, this sinks before it even levels the dock.
