When Advertising executive Buddy Amaral (Affleck) gives his plane ticket to Greg Janello (Goldwyn), so he can spent an extra night in Chicago with a beautiful women he met while waiting in the airport, he wakes up the following morning to find that the plane crashed killing all on board. Riddled with feelings of guilt he hits the bottle. A year later and out of rehab, Buddy sets out to get his life back on track by following the AA twelve-step program. One of the steps is to make amends with all the people you have hurt, so he finds Greg's estate agent wife Abby (Paltrow) and tries to throw a large property deal her way. The pair get close during the deal and Buddy is now has to decide if he can tell Abby the truth about who he is.

What we have here is an enjoyable romantic drama with two really good young actors making the most of a limited script. Ok the idea itself is not bad, but it is very lacklustre in its execution making the movie only really watchable because of the two leads. A missed opportunity.
