The Insider

Starring: Russel Crowe, Al Pacino and Christopher Plummer

Director: Michael Mann

Running Time: 155 mins

Available to buy on DVD and Video

Jeffrey Wigand (Crowe) has just been fired from his job; his bosses have made him sign a confidentiality contract so he does not tell anyone what he has been doing for the last 14 years. When Lowell Bergman (Pacino), the producer of 60 Minutes finds out Jeffrey worked for one of the world's largest Tobacco companies he pushes him for the reason he was sacked. The reason could be one of the most shocking and dangerous secrets someone has ever had to keep.

Michael Mann's true story is a fascinating look into how big business will use unlimited amounts of money and dirty tricks to cover up a story. Mann proves again that he is a director to watch, but he should make more films and not just a near three hour movie every four years. Sterling performances from Pacino and especially Crowe keep you interested for the full 2 hours & 35 minutes, but it only really grabs you after the first hour.

However this is a must see for all you smokers out there, you buy your cigs from these people!!!!!!
