his is one of the best movies of 2000. Adapted from the novel by Nick Hornby but replacing its original British setting for that of Chicago, this is a charming and extremely funny look into the male psyche when it comes to relationships. John Cusack lights up the screen in a way only he could do, constantly communicating with camera, sharing his past and thoughts on how everything in his life is going. A fantastic supporting cast, especially Jack black and Todd Lousio playing Barry and Dick, the music aficionados who work in Rob’s store, bring this movie an even greater character that draws you in and makes you care about outcome.
Great acting, fantastic script and a laugh from start to finish; this is the ideal date movie from 2000 and one of the top 5 romantic comedies of all time.
