WE'RE ON PANDORA

'It's a Last Samurai/Dances With Wolves-esque story on a Lord of the Rings/Jurassic Park epic scale with SFX like people have never seen before.'

'Avatar tells the story of Jake Sully, a disabled ex-marine who is recruited to embark on an epic adventure to a planet called Pandora.
His task is to help humans mine a rare material on the planet by learning about its' native species known as Na'vi.

Because the atmosphere of Pandora is toxic, the humans have created the Avatar Program, in which humans have their consciousness linked to a remotely-controlled body that can survive in the lethal air.

These genetically engineered hybrids which combine human DNA with native DNA are called Avatars. Jake discovers the world of Pandora as an Avatar and comes to respect and love its inhabitants, particularly a beautiful female called Neytiri.

His allegiance to the natives forces him to battle the humans to save the world he has come to call home.'

James Cameron, the Oscar-winning director of "Titanic," first conceived the film 15 years ago, when the means to realise his vision did not exist yet.

Now, after four years of production, AVATAR, a live action film with a new generation of special effects, delivers a fully immersive cinematic experience of a new kind, where the revolutionary technology invented to make the film disappears into the emotion of the characters and the sweep of the story.

AVATAR stars Sam Worthington (Terminator Salvation), Zoë Saldana (Star Trek), Michelle Rodriguez (Lost, Fast & Furious), and Sigourney Weaver (Aliens, Galaxy Quest). The film is written by James Cameron and produced by Cameron and Jon Landau.
